Minhwa painting

For art lovers we propose this Minhwa Workshop organized by the Círculo de Bellas Artes this March. This activity taught by H.K. Shin consists of learning this pictorial technique in about 20 hours.

For those who do not know this technique, the Minhwa is a traditional Korean painting that usually represent mythological figures, fruits, flowers and animals. Fruits such as grapes can be interpreted as epected healthy babies. The paintings can also represent various aspects of the religion such as Buddhism, Confucianism or Korean shamanism.

Literally, the word Minhwa alludes to “people’s painting” or “popular painting” and stages the everyday life of Koreans. In this technique the colors are more diverse than in traditional paintings. In addition it is usually painted on Korean paper (Hanji) or on silk.

The inscriptions to this workshop of Minhwa will be realized through the email workshops@circulobellasartes.com or telephone 91 360 54 09. You can consult all the needed material for the workshop here.
